The Pocket Gods are a British indie pop band from St Albans founded in 1998 by lead songwriter Mark Christopher Lee (sometimes known as M.C. Lee). The band have changed lineups over the years and released over 25 albums.
As a statement against the lack of royalties paid to artists by streaming services, they decided to put together an album of 100 songs, each of 30 seconds (the cut-off point for streaming services payment for a track), and they asked their friends to help put it together. Owen Paul and Prod’s track ‘Spotify’ was recorded at Start Recording and features on the album under OP&P.
Other lumineries on the album include the mighty Mungo Jerry, whose foot I accidentally stood on whilst backing out with my pint at the launch party
